AAA Offering Teen Driver Education at Frontier High School
Buffalo, NY, June 3, 2008 --According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of teens, claiming more than 6,000 15- to 20-year-olds each year. Many of these deadly crashes are due to immaturity and lack of driving experience and safety knowledge, factors that can be addressed by formal driver education.

"Proper training for new drivers is crucial for the development of safe, low-risk driving habits," said Tom Chestnut, President/CEO of AAA Western and Central New York. "Such instruction benefits not only the new driver, but every driver who shares the road."

AAA Western and Central New York, in conjunction with Frontier High School, is pleased to offer driver education to all novice drivers in the Southtowns. AAA's innovative driver curriculum, Licensed to Learn, will provide teens with up-to-date instruction and video technology in the classroom that coincides with in-car driving lessons to reinforce the educational objectives of the program. Students will gain a sense of real world driving situations in a low risk setting.

"We understand the challenges teen drivers face and how important it is to introduce such a valuable program to them," said Mike Formanowicz, Manager of Driver Programs for AAA. "We're very happy to be offering AAA's Licensed to Learn driver education program at Frontier High School."

Driver education classes and drive times will be held at Frontier High School Monday through Thursday mornings, beginning on July 7th. Space is limited and the deadline to register is Friday, June 13th.
